Recall: 20" Backdraft Barrels Used with a Backdraft HUB Adapter

A recall has been issued for all 20" Backdraft Barrels when used with a Backdraft HUB Adapter. During our investigation, we identified instances in which high-pressure muzzle gas caused the outter sleeve to rupture when the barrel was used with a Backdraft HUB Adapter. While this condition has been observed in only a very small number of barrels, customer safety is our highest priority.
The 20" Backdraft Barrel is safe for use as a conventional barrel when used with a direct-threaded adapter. The safety issue applies specifically to use with the Backdraft HUB Adapter.
Customers using a 20" Backdraft Barrel with a Backdraft HUB Adapter should immediately discontinue use in that configuration and follow the return and replacement instructions below.
How to Begin the Recall Process
Please use the Outlier RMA Request Form to select one of the recall resolution options below. Outlier RMA Request.
1. Refund
Return your barrel for a full refund.
2. Exchange
Return your barrel and exchange it for another Outlier barrel.
3. Convert
Return your barrel and we will convert it to a non-Backdraft carbon fiber barrel.
Outlier USA will provide a prepaid return shipping label. There will be no cost to you for return shipping or your replacement barrel.
